ABOUT OUR STAFF

Pedro Detresno attended college in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and completed his undergraduate at the Panama Canal College of Business Administration.   After obtaining a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University Santa Maria La Antigua, he joined Chase Manhattan Bank in Panama City.    Pedro was appointed Vice President of Credit & Resources with Bank Of America, where he spent a great deal of time in San Francisco at their headquarters office.   During the construction of the pipeline across Panama, Pedro worked with the Morrison Knudsen Company as their Financial & Government Relations officer.   In 1998 he obtained his Insurance Agent license and joined his wife Gloria in their new business.

Gloria Detresno completed her high school education in Panama City, and went on to DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.   After college, she worked for the Chicago Tribune newspaper in their Financial Department before returning to her home in Panama City.   Gloria learned her skills in customer service while organizing land tours for the cruise ships arriving at Balboa, Panama on behalf of Boyd Brothers.   In 1970 Gloria and Pedro married and settled in David to raise their family, which expanded to include 3 beautiful children.    In 1998 she obtained her Insurance Agent license and joined her husband Pedro in their new business.

Carlos Detresno has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University Santa Maria La Antigua, holds an Insurance Agent license and is now the second generation in the family business.

Their daughter Ana Lorena has a Masters Degree from Harvard Extension in Costa Rica and lives there with her 2 children.   Ana Lorena is also in the insurance business in Costa Rica. 

Daughter Priscilla Destresno  lives in Panama City, has a second master degree in LOGISTIC at MURCIA UNIVERSITY in Murcia, Spain.   She works in Panama city at D MANAGEMENT GROUP.

HEALTH:   Including Family Medical Care. We work with all of the reliable and stable insurance carriers in Panama and compare policy features and prices to provide a choice of quotations for you.  Most private insurance companies in Panama have an age 65 cutoff for new policies, but our relationship with World Wide Insurance can provide coverage after that age.   We also represent the Hospital Chiriqui prepaid medical plan and can make the process easy for you.

PROPERTY:    Coverage for fire, earthquake, storms, gales, hurricanes, flooding, water damage, smoke damage, vehicle impact (land and air) and debris removal.   Our relationship with vendors who provide helpful assistance after an unexpected event helps you in a time of need.

MULTI-RISK:   Contents coverage to protect you from theft, assault outside and inside the home, lost luggage, electrical appliances, broken glass and liability for $100,000.   We can provide assistance in a home safety survey that helps keep everything in its proper place.

AUTOMOBILE:   We offer policies from the basic government required coverage; RC (Responsabilidad Civil) which covers damage to the other car and people involved, all the way up to complete coverage for your car and passengers as well as other vehicles/people involved in a collision.   We can include a variety of add-on coverage for property and persons involved, and a wide range of deductible options.   **Women drivers receive a 50% discount on deductible amounts**

LIFE:    Many companies here in Panama offer excellent life insurance policies.  We can compare their benefits and costs for you.

TRAVEL:    With Panama City being the hub of so many airlines with routes all over the world, travel insurance is an important part of your portfolio.   We offer policies to protect you from unexpected events when you are far from home.
